GOV. ABBOTT APPOINTS JOHN ELLIOTT AND GREG GIBSON AND REAPPOINTS CHRISTOPHER MOSS TO THE TRS BOARD OF TRUSTEES

AUSTIN – Two new trustees were sworn in today as members of the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) Board of Trustees at the board’s May meeting in Austin. The trustees, John Elliott of Austin and Dr. Greg Gibson of Schertz, were appointed to the board this week by Gov. Greg Abbott. The governor also reappointed Christopher Moss of Lufkin to a second term on the board.

Britt Harris to depart TRS after 10 years as the agency’s chief investment officer

AUSTIN – The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has announced that TRS Chief Investment Officer Thomas “Britt” Harris is leaving the agency to serve as the chief investment officer for The University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO), a 501(c)(3) investment management corporation.

TRS Board selects Jerry Albright as agency’s new chief investment officer

AUSTIN – The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) Board of Trustees appointed Jerry Albright today as the agency’s new chief investment officer (CIO). The announcement follows last month’s decision by former TRS CIO Thomas “Britt” Harris to accept an offer to serve as chief executive officer for The University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO).

TRS Announces New Executive Investments Team

AUSTIN –Jerry Albright, recently named the new chief investment officer (CIO) for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), has announced his new executive team that will lead TRS’ Investment Management Division (IMD), effective immediately:

Jase Auby has been named TRS’ deputy CIO.

Sylvia Bell has been promoted to chief operating officer.

Katy Hoffman will serve as chairperson of the TRS Internal Investment Committee.

GOV. ABBOTT APPOINTS THREE TRUSTEES, INCLUDING CHAIRMAN, TO TRS BOARD

AUSTIN - Gov. Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Jarvis V. Hollingsworth of Missouri City as chairman, and James “Dick” Nance of Hallettsville and Nanette Sissney of Whitesboro as trustees to the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) Board of Trustees. The new board members will be sworn in and ready to serve at the Dec. 14-15 board meeting.
